Listed Companies
A listing brings its own set of rules, and decisions are closely watched by the market, minority shareholders and the FSMA. We advise listed companies, their boards and independent directors on related party transactions, corporate governance, market abuse rules and the major decisions that shape a company’s future.
Our work on public takeovers and capital markets gives us a practical sense of how these questions play out when the stakes are highest.
Litigation and Investigations
We advise and represent clients in complex corporate disputes, investigations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
Our work is informed by our knowledge of the local judicial landscape. We combine sound judgement with a practical approach. We embrace innovation to handle complex and demanding proceedings with a focused team. We have experience in cross-border disputes and proceedings in other jurisdictions, drawing on our trusted international network where needed.
Our work includes shareholder disputes, post-acquisition and contractual claims, directors’ and auditors’ liability, public M&A disputes and regulatory investigations and proceedings. We also act as counsel in institutional and ad hoc arbitration, including ICC and CEPANI proceedings, and in mediation.
Mediation and Arbitration
Novel brings together experienced negotiators, mediators and arbitrators. We combine practical experience with a thorough understanding of the different methods of dispute resolution.
Our expertise extends beyond mediation and arbitration to other forms of alternative dispute resolution and hybrid proceedings. We help clients identify the most appropriate approach to each dispute.
Members of our team regularly act as independent mediators and arbitrators in domestic and international disputes. We also represent clients in mediation, arbitration and other ADR proceedings.
